Before Your Appointment

Pre-Care
Instructions

Following these instructions carefully protects your results. Skin that is properly prepared holds pigment more evenly and heals more predictably.

01

Avoid blood thinners for 72 hours prior

Skip alcohol, ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil, and vitamin E for at least three days before your appointment. These thin the blood and cause excess bleeding, which prevents pigment from properly setting in the skin. If you take prescribed blood thinners, consult your physician before booking.

02

No retinol or exfoliants in the brow area for two weeks prior

Retinol, glycolic acid, AHAs, and similar exfoliants thin the skin and accelerate pigment fading. Stop using them in the brow area at least two weeks before your appointment. This includes facial peels and prescription retinoids.

03

No tanning or significant sun exposure for two weeks prior

Sunburned or tanned skin is stressed skin — it holds pigment inconsistently and heals slowly. Avoid extended sun exposure and tanning beds for two full weeks before your appointment. If you'll be outdoors, wear SPF on your face.

04

Do not wax, thread, or tint brows one week prior

These services can irritate or sensitize the skin around the brow area. Leave your brows untouched for at least a week before your appointment so we're working with skin that's calm and in its natural state.

05

No Botox in the forehead area within two weeks prior

Botox alters muscle placement and can shift your natural brow position. Wait at least two weeks after any forehead injections before your microblading appointment. If your Botox is scheduled after your appointment, wait two weeks in the other direction as well.

06

Arrive with clean, makeup-free brows

Come to your appointment with your brows clean and free of any makeup or brow product. This lets me work with a clear view of your natural hair growth and skin tone — both of which directly inform the design and color choices.

07

Eat before your appointment

A full stomach keeps blood sugar stable during the procedure, which helps with sensitivity and keeps you comfortable throughout. Don't come in fasted, especially if you know you're sensitive to any kind of discomfort.
